In 1946, Leonard Strobel (Steve's Grandfather) began Strobel Blacksmith in Clarks, Nebraska. Strobel Blacksmith provided welding and blacksmithing services to the Clarks area.
In 1969, Leonard and his son Dwight (Steve's Dad) incorporated to form Strobel Industries, Inc. Leonard designed and built a tree cutter and he and Dwight began manufacturing various farm equipment such as stock cutters, scrapers, packers, beefsfoot, etc.

In 1975, Dwight began building storage tanks, shortly thereafter Steve began helping with the tank construction and eventually began managing it. Steve then purchased the tank division from his Dad in 1986 and grew from 5 employees to near 40 currently. Strobel Construction Unlimited Inc. has evolved into a general contractor in the heavy industrial area.

In 1996, Steve's Grandfather passed away, however throughout his lifetime, Leonard established a tradition of integrity, character and a strong work ethic reflected in the family business today.
